Reality TV Shows??? what's the purpose?

This kind of tv shows is increasing in number on almost all tv stations.
People enjoy having an eye,-I mean two eyes-on other persons lives.
Some of these shows were tolerated because they had a purpose such as star academy or X factor or america's got talent ... they help talented persons to achieve their dream of becoming a star even though these shows are rather commercial and the so called new born star isn't always a real artist .... this is another issue ..
This week I discovered a new style of reality tv shows , 9 persons from different countries are living in a clod house made of aluminum,steal and glass , like persons living in it it has no soul ..
The program is named "Al Karar" :The Decision that has to be made by 8 persons to give the award of 2 Million Saudi Riyal to one person who they think needs money the most.
From the moment every particiapant saw the number on the screen, he started with all his processor's performance, or let's say with all his devil power, to think how to lie and make plan to gain other persons pity and then persuade them he needs and deserves money the most.
From the that very moment you could see greed, egoisme, lies, mental violence.....
Every one with his stupid lie to gain money is counting words he's saying, watching other persons moves and drawing a plan to tresor in his mind.
That girl wants money to be able to provide RICH life to her children who are not poor now.
That other girl is here with no motive she just wants to start a business.
One girl comes from a poor neighbourhood and she needs money to improve her family's life and help her mother get health care.
Some guys don't need money at all but they claim they deserve it the most.
There they were negociating, discussing each others simple ordinary normal issues ...
Did they think of starving countries? children with no health care in wars ? poor ignorant persons in poor countries ?
Everybody was focusing on himself ignoring and forgetting he lives on a wide planet called earth.
Could these nine persons inside the house give away money to one person in need outside the house?
I tried to figure out the purpose of such a program I wasnt' able to find something else than what I saw : greed and egoisme.
Maybe I could forgive producers of this program if they want to show and proove to humans at home watching it some human "qualities" all humans ignore and make them wonder about it?
